Frequently Asked Questions & Answers:

Q:  What happens during a BodyMind session?

A:  A BodyMind session begins with a brief intake where you and I will discuss your reasons for coming, and answer any questions you may have of me or my way of working.

After the intake we may decide to move to the treatment table. You will not need to undress as this is not a massage. I will begin by placing my hands gently on your body, typically beginning at your head or feet. When I do this I am listening to your body; this listening touch naturally reflects and heightens your inner experience and awareness of your physical bodymind. We will listen and follow the inner (and outer) movement of your experiences together.

Dialogue is optional depending upon the client's intent. Dialogue can often be helpful with the integration of your experiences on the table. Each client is unique as is each session. Any and all of the abovementioned experiences may happen at any one session.

Q:  Are touching and talking going on at the same time?

A:  Sometimes. This will depend on your intention for the session. Often I will begin a session with talk and touch that gently helps direct your awareness inward.

As a session proceeds both you and I may explore verbally and somatically what you are experiencing; it is your unique experience and awareness that will guide the session. My role is to facilitate an invitation to your inner body wisdom to come forth. I may reflect your  your experience in dialogue or in stillness, while always being witness and holding ground for us both.

Q: How many sessions will be required?

A:  There is no fixed amount. How quickly, how deeply and what issues/intentions you bring to BodyMind therapy will determine how often we meet together Again, each client is unique. Clients with long-held issues and early traumatic experiences may want to schedule regular sessions over a longer period of time than those wanting to process a more recent event in their life. Often clients will begin therapy coming regularly for a period of time, and then at some future point they only schedule sessions a few times a year, or as needed. I recommend you schedule at least a couple of sessions initially, (i.e., weekly, bi-weekly), to gain an experience of the process, and to see if BodyMind therapy is right for you.

Q: How long are sessions and how much do they cost?

A:  Sessions generally last around 90 minutes. Scheduling your appointment with some time available to relax after you leave the office is ideal.

My fee is $160/per 90-minute session. Check, cash or Venmo.

There is one thing that, when cultivated and regularly practiced, leads to deep spiritual intention, to peace, to mindfulness and clear comprehension, to vision and knowledge, to a happy life here and now, and to the culmination of wisdom and awakening.

And what is that

one thing?

It is mindfulness centered on the body.
